Leaving your comfort zone for others.

In my travels I've had the good fortune of meeting people who leave the comfort of their homes behind, travel across the seas, immerse themselves in foreign cultures, all in an effort to solve problems for communities and improve lives. In Uganda I met a young American woman who had been living in a village in Uganda for up to 3 years, working to provide solutions in health. Here in Maiduguri I spoke to another young American - he had been in Liberia - helping to control #Ebola and Ecuador, working with cocoa farmers. I've met many others from other countries. I am always inspired by these people. I want to be like them when I grow up. Life is not all about our own little problems, what to wear, what to eat, what car to drive, which club to go flex in - etc.
When you live outside the zone of self-centeredness, and live for others, you won't even be bothered about clothes and other really 'non-essentials'. You want to go out and make a difference.
I want to experience the thrill of leaving everything behind for a while and forgetting about myself and my problems. (some people will DM me after reading that last sentence ☺)
Anyway. This is me again in another brief moment of vanity and Maiduguri heat. 🔥
